Proof of concept carried out by RITTMO Agroenvironnement
The laboratory experimentations carried out by RITTMO Agroenvironment and started in October 2018 have been finalised. A pilot has been set up to validate the BioRenGaz concept.
The results are very promising. The pilot reactor was able to manage an incoming COD load of up to 9 kg-COD/m³/d, and potentially 12 kg-COD/m³/d, i.e., performances 3 to 4 times higher than conventional anaerobic digestors.
This yield corresponds to the loads applied to high-performance UASB or EGSB reactors processing only inputs with low suspended solids content. The BioRenGaz technology is perfectly adapted to pulpy waste such as biowaste pulp.
These results make it possible to envisage carrying out trials on a semi-industrial scale, which would allow long-term monitoring of this process, which offers very interesting prospects.
